Subhan Ahmed
RSS FeedI’m Subhan Ahmed — a Software Engineer with a Master’s in Information and Communications Technology from Western Sydney University, and a Bachelor’s in Software Engineering from COMSATS University, Lahore.
In the past decade, I’ve built systems across many domains — from e-commerce platforms and real-time dashboards to collaborative whiteboards and large-scale OTT streaming applications.
Over the years, I’ve evolved from a front-end developer into an engineer — diving deep into browser internals, streaming protocols, and playback systems that power media experiences for millions of people.
Today, I work as a Senior Software Engineer at Stan (Nine Entertainment Co.), where I help architect and build cross-platform streaming experiences that run on Smart TVs, consoles, and web browsers. I've implemented adaptive streaming (HLS / MPEG-DASH / MSE / EME), and helped deliver both Live and VOD streaming with dynamic ad insertion for major events like the Tokyo Olympics, Paris Olympics, UEFA, and NFL. In addition to that, I've also been contributing to Google’s Shaka Player imrpoving the device support, and fixing various bugs and performance issues.
When I’m not building or debugging software, you’ll probably find me gaming, folding origami, playing chess or reading — balancing the creative and logical sides of life.
Welcome to my space — where I share my story, ideas, and lessons from a decade-long journey through the evolving world of software engineering.
